About Me
Origin: My name is Dalius Alekson. I was born in 1973 in the humble land of Lithuania, a country nested between the Eastern and Western Europe for more than a thousand years.
Formal Education and Career:
After my graduation from Vilnius College of Trade in 1994, I had a successful career in the world of corporate business for 15 years. In 2009 I started my own business, a healthy food cafe in the UK, and while this experience was unsuccessful from the commercial point of view, it was very profitable in terms of my spiritual development. It led me to a decision to move away from the private sector and to start my new humanistic career. In 2009 I completed the NVQ Certificate in Social Care and in 2012 a Holistic Massage Diploma. I have realised that working for people’s wellbeing can be even more rewarding than having a career in the world of commerce.
Lifestyle: Since childhood I have been drawn to the martial arts, especially judo. In 1988 and 1989 I held the national judo champion title in Lithuania. After moving away from professional sports, I started practicing various types of yoga, including:
Sivananda, Ashtanga and Bikram. I still practice yoga daily in my own style, developed from the elements of the above mentioned schools and self-studies.
Developing healthy eating habits and cooking skills has also been a great passion of mine since my twenties. I have studied the benefits of vegetarian, raw and organic food, as well as Paul C. Bragg’s and Gerson Therapy diets. In my early childhood in Lithuania, home and natural remedies were more acceptable than artificial medicines and drugs. During the years, I have gained knowledge about natural remedies, essential oils, and sound therapy. My other big priority is to live as fully and sustainably as possible and support initiatives that have these aims.
Family: I am honoured and grateful to share my life with my lovely wife, Skirmante. We have been married since 1999 and living happily ever after.
Spirituality: It appears to me that life is a journey towards fulfilment of my core purpose - being in harmony with myself, others and our planet.
Special Thanks to:
Mother-in-law Regina who financially supported my Holistic Massage Course.
Sister-in-law Asta and family friend Ieva for all the help in editing this website.
Wife Skirmante who has been my life’s supportive witness and brilliant companion through all my career crossroads and roundabouts.
